Basic Chords
Starting Chords
4A - New Chords of A minor - A Major - D Major   (Am - A - D)
Learn to finger the chords  E  A  D  &  Am
Notice how the chord shape of  A minor is an already  familiar shape as it is similar to the chord shape of   E Major shown above

NOTE:
The chords of E A & D mean the same as E major A major & D major
this can be confusing to beginners to hear for example someone says "play an A Chord" & at other times "play an A major chord"

They are  the same, major chords  are usually referred to by their letter name only, but minor chords are always called that, e.g.. A minor & written as Am with a small m

The
RED Numbers are for the fingers of the chord hand, 1 being the index finger, 2 being the 2nd finger, 3 being the 3rd Ring finger, 4 being the little finger.  The RED 0 means that string is not held by any finger but it is played, called an Open String.

The
Blue and White Ovals are relating to how the chord is made from the notes of its Major Scale.  Beginners do not need to worry about this for the moment.  However if you want to know more about this you can look at this Module HERE:- Very Easy Practical Theory.
