1b.  What are the Black Notes?

The Black Notes are called

Enharmonic equivalents

Black Notes such as C sharp and D flat (C# and Db) are

only one note, with one sound but two possible names, because the note of C# or Db is higher in pitch than C and lower in pitch than D.

There is no black note between E and F or B and C

To memorize this you could think of something like

eat Energy Foods (E - F) when Bitterly Cold (B - C)

Or Easter Friday (E - F) - Birth of Christ (B - C)

Or  make up your own memory aid
