Using the Diagram 1 above you could, in the Key of C use for example the chords :-


C Major - D Minor - E Minor F Major - G7 plus the other chords shown too, and they will work


These are chords harmonized from the Major Scale.  You can use any of the chords shown in any order


To find chords in other Keys, just substitute the C Major Scale with another Key you want, eg. Key of D.  D will be the Tonic No. I  See diagram below
